Work Description
Functional Responsibilities of the Division Forest Office
To conserve forests by preventing and controlling forest encroachment, forest fires, illegal felling, theft and smuggling of forest products, and wildlife poaching.
To regulate the collection, transportation, and utilization of timber, firewood, herbs, and other forest products.
To perform and facilitate forest silvicultural activities such as the promotion of regeneration, bush clearing, thinning, and pruning.
To implement approved work plans for sustainable and scientific forest management to increase the productivity and production of forest areas.
To provide necessary technical support to Community Forest User Groups for forest management.
To formulate and implement division-level plans related to forest development.
To provide necessary technical suggestions and advice to stakeholders for the development and management of private forests and agro-forestry crops.
To provide information regarding forest resources to the general public.
To ensure sustainable management of forests within the jurisdiction of this Division Forest Office through community-based forest management systems in accordance with forest policy and law.
To increase production and productivity by promoting plantation and expansion of cultivation of timber and non-timber forest products.
To perform tasks related to environmental and biodiversity conservation, soil conservation, and watershed management.
To facilitate the supply of forest products and the flow of environmental services.
To perform forest development and management tasks by coordinating with district-level governmental and non-governmental organizations, local levels, and other stakeholder agencies.
To provide technical support for forest development activities such as the establishment and operation of forest nurseries, seedling production, and plantation.
To create opportunities for employment and income generation through activities of forest conservation, development, and utilization.
To provide feedback based on field practices for the formulation of policies and laws regarding forest and environmental protection, soil conservation and watershed management, sustainable forest management, forest enterprise and eco-tourism promotion, and green job creation.
To facilitate the equitable distribution of benefits obtained from forest, biodiversity, and watershed heritage.
To maintain good governance within the forest sector.
